well, our last adventure was A LOT of fun! we found out about this nature center in newport and decided to check it out. the main highlight was that there is a butterfly pavilion there! so cute! ..and the best part was all of this was FREE!

it was kind of weird..the butterflies would just hang out on the floor, so we had to watch where we stepped!
so, you're not suppose to really touch the butterflies, but if you held your hand out next to them, they would crawl on your hand...so cool...i held a butterfly!

poor Carrie was scared of the big butterflies! "they keep swooping by my head!"

After we were done playing with the butterflies, we walk through these little trails that they have there...they are suppose to replicate the different types of
environment we have...redwood, forest, dessert, etc... it was very pretty!

last but not least...once you are all done outside, there is a little indoor visitor/educational center. it had different displays of they types of wildlife found in
california and also a native
american exhibit to show what
indians first did here on this land!

mashing nuts like an
indian

a real
coyote skin...there were also
squirrel skins, foxes and even a skunk!

and i don't know why, but
aaron was totally
fascinated with the snakes...sssssss....grossssssss. anyway, i totally
recommend this place. we were probably there for 2 hours easily, so if you're looking for a fun, FREE place to go, you should check it out!
