Back to school

Can't believe i have a THIRD GRADER!!! and i can't believe the kids start school in JULY!! it's kind of crazy.  but the school Blaine goes to now is a modified year round...so they have shorter summers and longer breaks through out the year.  i guess it's a good thing too because it is so hot it's nice to have the kids back in school where it's air conditioned.  it's too hot to be outside unless you are in a pool!
another super fun thing, is Blaine and Jake are in the same class this year.  it will be nice for Blaine to have a buddy to start the year...but Blaine makes friends quickly, so im not too worried.  here's to another great year!

poor ty wishes he could go with Blaine...he wants to be grown up!but  i want Ty to stay my little peanut forever!

Happy Birthday Ty

HOLY SMOKES!!! my baby is 2!! that is crazy.  Ty has been so fun but has definately kept us on our toes.  this kid is ALLLLLL boy.  he loves trucks, cars, balls, and of course, AIRPLANES!!!  lucky for us we live kind of close to an airport and also an air museum!  we decided to take ty to the museum for his birthday and he was in airplane HEAVEN!!!

Ty just walked around the whole place pointing and saying "Whoa...whoa!!"
standing infront of the plane with a 2 on it...since Ty is now 2!!
The Huber boys were able to come with us too which was fun!

stopping for a quick snack before off to the next plane!

there was even a plane there named TY!!! how awesome is that!
the museum was also having a "make and take" day, so both boys got to build a model jet and take it home. i think that ended up being his favorite present.  Happy Birthday baby Boy!!
 {ps...STOP GROWING UP!!!!!!}

Bedrock stop

so, did you know there is a Flintstone's museum?!  yeah...neither did we...but we saw it on our way home (after the grand canyon) and decided to pull off and check it out!  Jake and i really enjoyed reliving some childhood memories, and Blaine and Ty had a blast seeing these cute characters too!
there was a fun dinosaur tail slide....
or you could crawl through a long snake

 yaba-daba-doooooo!!!

Grand Canyon

so on our way home from ID, we decided to swing by the grand canyon.  Jake was the only one in our family who has ever been, so we thought this might be fun.  we got there about 4am...just in time to watch the sun rise.

well...things were not going so great while we were waiting for the sun to raise.  Blaine slipped and scrapped up his leg on both sides (only one side pictured) and then Ty was just super tired and wanted to go back to sleep.  yep...we are meanies who woke him up to see this...
but in the end....i think it was all worth it
so, so beautiful!! i can now say that i have not only been to the grand canyon, but i have watched the sunrise over the grand canyon~
pictures really don't do justice!  it was so beautiful!  maybe my kids will appreciate it when they are a little older!

Ty got an m&m jar with a big bag of MMs from his aunt Julie and uncle T.Jay....i think he has a new favorite aunt and uncle!

happy 4th of July

for the last couple of years, we seem to always be in Idaho for the 4th of July.  and we are making little fun traditions there!
i feel like it wouldn't be the 4th now without the Rexburg Parade
after the parade, we set out for a massive water balloon war....too bad we weren't that great at the balloon launcher! (except Kayla...she was a rock star launcher)
and the war continued back at the house
and what would visiting ID be without a ride in fast freddy.  poor blaine is getting too big...but it looks just right for Ty!
of course we have our annual silly picture of uncle T.Jay...this one is a keeper for sure
we adding something new this year...pogo stick jumping.  Kayla was the reining champ with over 300 pogo jumps.  Julie was a far second with 150(ish) and i was even further with only 120(ish).  i will be practicing for next year!
homemade icecream.  ty loved helping grandpa put the salt in the ice
and lastly piling in the back for grandpa's truck to watch firworks
happy 4th of July!
