GOT MILK????

i decided this time around to do the "pumping/bottle feeding" thing with Ty. i was never really good at nursing with Blaine, and i really want Ty to have breast milk for at least the first 6 months, so this seems to be working out the best! i pump more than twice as much as what he eats everyday, so we have quite the supply! i figure i just have to pump for 3 months for us to make it to the 6 month mark....good plan huh?! but we will see what happens...i am running out of freezer space!

iNTRoDuCiNG.....

Ty Brennen Robinson
born 7-7-10 at 11:14pm
6lbs 15oz -- 19 inches long

WARNING: this is a long post of Ty's journey to get here...feel free to just scroll down and look at the pictures...it's probably what i would do! :)
What a roller coaster ride! our little labor story started tuesday July 6th when i went in for an amnio to find out if our little guy was ready to come to this world! at 8:45PM that night, we got "THE CALL" from our dr telling us that this baby is ready to come....and i would be induced first thing in the morning. YIKES...we better get ready! at 7:00AM Wednesday July 7th we arrived at the hospital. (top picture is me all ready to go!) when we got there i was starting this whole process at 0! no dilation, not effaced, not dropped...nothing. so we were geared up for a long day...and night!
Blaine had been in Arizona for the past week. my sister was so sweet to take Blaine while i was on bed rest. But once they found out i was going to be induced...they all hoped in the car and headed out for California. we were so glad to see his cute boy face for a little while...we had missed him so much!

Sooo, finally my water broke at 2:00 in the afternoon, but i still wasn't very far along. after watching "So you think you can dance" with my mom, (10:00PM) the nurse checked me again and i was only dilated to a 4! i couldn't believe it...15 hours and i was only a 4?!?! at that point we had given up our hopes of having a 7-7 baby and knew we would be here all night! so we sent mom home so we could all get some much needed rest. about 45 mins later, the nurse came rushing in to check me because the baby's heart rate was dropping, which meant we were progressing...i was at a 7!...ten minutes after that i was at a 10 and we were getting ready to push. WHAT?! it took me ALL day to get to a 4, and in an hour i was at a 10 and pushing?! well ok then. once my dr got there i started pushing and in just 5 good pushes...8 minutes, our baby was out! born at 11:14pm...talk about waiting for the last minute to be born 7-7!me with my Dr...Dr. Pollock
right away he never really cried. he just let out what sounded like a cute little purrrr...which is how he later got his nick name Ty the tiger. but something just wasn't quite right. it seemed like we only had him for minutes before he was taken up to the NICU due to respiratory issues. the next time i saw him, there where cords and wires coming out of him...an oxygen tube...monitors every where. and all i could do was look at my baby...i couldn't touch him, hold him, comfort him. it was the worst feeling on what was supposed to be the best day ever. so we just sat there and LOOKED at our baby...so tiny luckily we had some of the best nurses in the NICU...one even let us sneak blaine in to meet his brother for 2 minutes. no kids under 18 are allowed in. so we were so grateful.FINALLY after what seemed like days, we were able to hold our baby again...but no stimulation...just firm holding. we could come hold him every 4 hours but in between he needed his rest to get strong...like a tiger!
Ty received so much love and care in the NICU, and when he could have visitors, my family came a running!...he was in a "clean room" so everyone would have to scrub in and where a gown.Grandma and GrandpaAunt JaimeUncle Rich and Aunt Rachelin Ty's crib we kept a picture of our family, so he could look at us when we couldn't be there, and his new mascot...Ty the Tiger!Saturday July 10th...Ty's stats look GREAT and he is ready to come HOME!! no more tubes, plugs and wires...i get to dress my baby!
After soooo long, Blaine finally got to hold his brother for the first time Saturday night....and our family was all together the way it should be!we are so grateful to be home, happy and healthy! Thank you to everyone supporting us with your prayers and love. this whole experience of pregnancy and having a baby has been a rough one, but we are just so happy and blessed now to start our new family of FOUR!

WELCOME HOME TY!

the PRIORS are in TOWN!

It's always a party when the Prior's come to town (my sister Diana and family). They decided to come out here to get away from life for a little while...i don't blame them. After a small, intimate memorial for Joshua, they all hopped in the car and headed for CALIFORNIA! something about the warm air and beach breeze that can help make your worries go away...even if just for a minute. we of course LOVE when the Priors come. When ever they are in town, Blaine has sooooo much fun with his cousins...we pretty much never see him when they are around! too busy playing. and i love spending time with my BEAUTIFUL nieces and my sister of course...and i couldn't forget chadly too! :) it's always fun just hanging out, talking, and laughing. thanks for such a fun and entertaining week!Blaine and Jakey had soooo much fun together. we always said those 2 should have been twins. born only 4 days apart...when they get together, they are inseparable. we took turns having sleep over parties at our house and grandma's house!the kids keeping us oh so entertained at all times. post-it note happy faces...who knew they could be so much fun?!and the time FINALLY CAME, that Rebecca (10 years old) is officially TALLER then her Aunt Jaime! not too much longer til she is taller then her mom!
Jake and Chad playing games...and sara poking in to say HI!what a cute and goofy couple! always smiling...LOVE you guys!
the kids had lots of fun with Uncle Rich. Here's Joey checking to see if Rich's muscles are strong enough to wrestle him. it was great having Rich...(the fun uncle who doesn't have kids yet) there so the kids could jump and climb on him while the rest of us just sat back and watched!
this is how Blaine came home everyday...tired and worn out from all the fun! To top this all off...Diana graciously invited Blaine to come back with them to Arizonia. Since i am on bed rest til this baby comes, it is so awesome of her to have him there. he is having WAY more fun with them then he would be having here with me...sitting on the couch! we talk to him everyday and he is having such a BLAST. the boys build legos EVERYDAY and go to the pool, or waterpark, or slip n' slide. he is just living up his summer. we will need to go pick him up eventually if he will ever want to come home!
