my Beanie Babies

ok, so once upon a time ago, one of my best friend from high school, Jaci, taught me how to crochet (random, i know right!?) but all i ever learned how to do was a basic square for quilts and stuff. well since then i have always wanted to learn how to do hats...and last night i gave it a shot. here are a couple that i made...with the cutiest models ever. now i wanna take a class or something and really learn how to make cute stuff!
i'm sorry, but i just love these eyes!!

Flag ceremony

Every morning at school, the day starts with flag ceremony/announcements. One kid is called up to the stage to raise the flag, lead the pledge of allegiance, pick a song to sing and help the principal with announcements. it's actually kind of a big honor...equivalent to student of the month...and friday BLAINE ws chosen. here is what Blaine's teacher wrote about him as an introduction:
"He is a fantastic first grader! He is responsible, respectful, and ready to learn everyday. He is a kind and caring kid. He is trustworthy and terrific! He is...Blaine Robinson!"

it just so happened to be crazy hair and sock day that day too...Blaine raising the flagBlaine with the principal (dont worry, she has crazy hair too) needless to say...i am one proud mama!!! love you blaine

Our visit to AZ

Over Veteran's Day weekend, we decided to go to Arizona since Blaine had a long weekend off of school. it was nice becuase we were able to "kill 2 birds with one stone" so to speak since i have 2 sisters in AZ we were able to see them both and Blaine got to play with 8 out of his 11 cousins! so fun! thanks to my sister Diana who let us stay with them...there's never a dull moment at their house! we had so much fun! the first night Diana and her family took us up to this fun canyon where the kids went hiking/exploring down a little river...then chad made us some yummy dutch oven. later we roasted marshmellows too!macho boys...Blaine and his cousins Joey and Jakeme and D!peek-a-boo Ty behind the treesyummy gooey smores

the next day, my sister took us to this cute children's museum. it's all hands on and the kids had so much fun!

4 months old

Ty is already 4 months old...man time is FLYING BY! here are some of his "stats" from his Dr. app:
Height: 24 inches
Weight: 12lbs 14oz
Jake and i have thought that he has been chunking up and getting so big, but he is only in the 10th percentile so he is still just our little peanut!

some highlights:
*he is our super smiley boy (except when we try to take a picture of course)
*he is sleeping through the night!! YAHOO...9-10 hours
* he grabs anything in his reach...and then puts it straight in his mouth
*totally drooling...teething?!
*babble, babble, babble
*starting to giggle...cutiest thing EVER
*and taste testing solids...well, rice cereal and apple sauce isn't really solid, but you know what i mean
he is just growing up too fast and will be on the move before i know it
