DaY oF AWESOME-NESS!!

we had a great day yesterday...a day so great there was only one way to describe it...AWESOME-NESS!!! it all started in Mission Viejo. every year there is walk against drugs to kick off red ribbon week, but what i didn't know is that there is also an "emergency response expo" after the walk down at the park. (which is what we went too) at the expo there were all types of cool police cars, fire trucks, and a helicopter even landed out on the field. it was so cool to see everything and there were also tons of booths with information to help keep you prepared in case of an emergency. we learned different things of what to do in case of a fire or earthquake! it was neatJake thought everything was pretty cool too!

all of our FREEBIES...flyers, bags, t-shirts, pencils, first aid kits, etc.... after the EXPO, we headed over to TOYS-R-US for "bricktober"...kids could come and build a free car and race them...we just went and built the car, blaine was in free lego heaven
to top the day off Blaine and i decided to got BACK to legoland and try our luck at the costume contest. we found out that the prizes for winning were actually really cool, so we came up with a cute idea....Blaine wanted to be LEGO MINOTARUS. it's a new lego game that he LOVES!! he was the Minator and then we made a "board game" to fit around his body, so it looked like he was in the game.my dad helped make the minator mask and i made the game board. i made the giant lego pieces our of paper and put colored marshmallows on the tops to look like lego topsthe host talking to Blaine asking about his costumewe were so excited when Blaine WON FIRST PLACE!!! he was super happy and just beaming. not bad for making the costume in under 2 hours and it cost us $0!! prize package included 2 lego sets, a blanket, towel, books and other lego gear. but BEST OF ALL it included a family 4 pack of legoland annual year passes! SWEET! Blaine was such a little stud and so excited, we thought he was never going to go to sleep after that. it was the perfect ended to such a great day...and best of all it didn't cost us a penny! (except in car gas). FUN DAY...way to go BLAINEY!!

So fun. I am supper proud of Blaine. I wish they had something like that around here. I am boring when it comes to costume creation, but maybe with a little incentive...HMMMMMMMMM!
